Four Wines Nurtured by Hokkaido’s Unique Terroir

The restaurant and bar staff meticulously conducted tastings to carefully select the perfect pairings for each wine and dish. Not only did we focus on achieving a harmonious balance of flavors, but we also thoroughly explored the compatibility of various wines with the menu. Each wine was chosen with great care to enhance the dishes while also highlighting the unique qualities of the wine itself. Even the choice of glassware was made with precision to elevate the overall experience.

The four wines, handpicked from renowned Hokkaido wineries, are carefully matched to complement their accompanying dishes, creating a symphony of flavors. At The Ball Otaru, indulge in a blissful dining experience that celebrates the art of pairing and the essence of Hokkaido.

[Camel Farm “Regent Sparkling”]
Produced in Yoichi
This sparkling wine features fruity aromas of white peach, strawberry, and mandarin, with gentle sweetness reminiscent of jasmine tea and yeast. Its hallmark lies in the balance of fruity acidity and delicate minerality.

[OSA Winery “O”]
Produced in Otaru
A white wine with soft acidity and a friendly aroma, making it an excellent companion to any meal. Crafted with a blend of Delaware, Tabiji, and Pinot Gris grapes, it offers a refreshingly crisp taste characteristic of northern regions, designed to enhance and enliven the dining experience.

[Chitose Winery “Pinot Noir Rosé”]
Produced in Chitose
This rosé wine elegantly combines the flavors of red fruits like cranberry, cherry, and raspberry with a hint of cinnamon spice. Its smooth acidity, light tannins, and smoky barrel-aged undertones create a sophisticated flavor, complemented by its clear pink hue.

[Cocotoaru Series “Zweigelt”]
Produced in Iwamizawa
A rich red wine with notes of cassis and black cherry, layered with the complexity of sandalwood, cinnamon, oak barrel, and spice aromas. Its full-bodied fruitiness, fresh acidity, and well-structured tannins provide depth and an evolving palate, making it a wine to savor.
