This November, we’re excited to celebrate slash Kawasaki’s 5th anniversary! It’s a big milestone, made possible by the support of our amazing international guests and local community. To show our gratitude and keep bringing fresh inspiration to your stays, we’re hosting a special event called “A Hotel Where You Can Feel Art.”
On event day, the first-floor “slash cafe & bar Kawasaki” will transform into a vibrant art space. Expect exhibitions from up-and-coming artists, music from local DJs, live painting, pop-up shops, and even an art-inspired menu. Whether you’re a guest, a curious visitor, or a local, we invite you to dive into this creative celebration with us.

Art Exhibition
Throughout its history, slash Kawasaki has collaborated with numerous artists. To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we are showcasing works by three up-and-coming young artists across various locations within the hotel, offering guests new discoveries and moments of inspiration year-round. Don’t miss the opportunity to encounter your favorite artist or find an unexpected connection with a piece of art!
Artist Profiles
HOHOEMI
Since 2020, HOHOEMI has been sharing their works on social media, collaborating with various industries such as print media, apparel, and food. They have been featured in ILLUSTRATION 2021 and Fashion Illustration File 2023, held solo exhibitions at Shibuya PARCO, participated in exhibitions at Seibu Ikebukuro, and sold goods at various events. HOHOEMI also serves as a part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of the Arts.
Kazunobu Nakamoto
Working as both a designer and illustrator, Nakamoto’s art features cute, non-human characters rendered in bold colors with a pop style and a touch of dark humor. Although allergic to cats, he lives with one and loves it more than the itchiness. Instagram
nowri | ナウリ
An illustrator and designer from Saitama, nowri’s work centers on depicting “strong, beautiful women living in the present era.” She has designed logos and merchandise for artists, illustrated cosmetics collaborations, and worked on music video artwork. Instagram
◆Room Number Digital Art (Exclusive to Hotel Guests)
Our hotel’s digital room number signage is one of the “digital art” installations throughout slash Kawasaki. Since August 2024, we’ve been featuring artist collaboration works on these signs, with three artists presenting unique seasonal themes. Guests can enjoy these artworks during their stay.

◆Pop-up Shop
A pop-up shop will feature various goods from popular artists HOHOEMI, known for their retro pop style, and Kazunobu Nakamoto, who creates charming character-based illustrations. Look out for art canvases, stationery, and exclusive collaborative items that can only be found at slash Kawasaki. Come and discover an artistic piece that resonates with you!
◆Live Painting
Kazunobu Nakamoto, the artist behind the event’s main visual, will be holding a live painting session. Watch as he transforms a blank wall into a vibrant work of art in real-time.

Art Collaboration Drink & Food Menu (November Limited)
We’ve collaborated with popular food art creator Izumi Kamoshida (also known as izumi) to bring you a menu that’s as visually stunning as it is delicious. Known for developing product concepts for various companies, izumi has created four food illustrations inspired by the American diner theme and the essence of slash Kawasaki.
Featured items include the /slash Shake (BANANA), flavored with locally sourced “Kogarashi syrup,” a refreshing Craft Cola, the indulgent Broadway Sandwich packed with spare ribs.
5th Anniversary Banana Split, available exclusively on November 1st. This decadent dessert features ripe bananas, rich chocolate sauce, ice cream, whipped cream, and cherries—a perfect way to enjoy the event’s artistic ambiance.

Artist Profile
IZUMI KAMOSHIDA
With 76,000 Instagram followers, izumi is a renowned food artist who creates “food art” that you can savor with your eyes. Her work has been featured in magazines, corporate collaborations, and food packaging designs. She also focuses on SDGs-related art projects and develops products based on the theme “Art to Product.”
DJ Performance
Enjoy DJ music suitable for all ages, curated by local DJs from the Kawasaki area. Relax with a drink, explore the pop-up shop, or dance along to the beats in your own style.
