At LIVELY HOTELS, our brand concept is to provide an “experiential value” where guests gain some form of personal update through their stay, rather than just offering the functional value of a place to sleep. THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI will host “We are THE LIVELY” LIVELY FES 2024 on Saturday, August 24th, as part of its 5th-anniversary celebrations.
Under the concept of “a festival to experience the present Kansai,” the event will feature 15 of the hottest artists from the Kansai region. Leading the lineup of singers is the SNS sensation 808, joined by three other prominent vocalists. Renowned pioneer DJ MINAMI, along with six other DJs including Nao Nomura, a resident DJ at Osaka’s famous nightclubs, will also perform. The festival will offer a wide range of genres including HipHop, R&B, POPs, Dance Music, as well as trending Amapiano and AfroBeats.
In addition to music, the festival will showcase live painting and other art content. Four artists, including the widely featured artist Higashi Mikio, will create artwork inspired by the atmosphere of the venue. Attendees can witness these unique artistic moments as they unfold.
The event will be held in two locations within the hotel: the lounge space on the first floor for music and the basement “THE UNDERGROUND” for art. Both areas will be transformed into extraordinary spaces with lighting and signage displays. Additionally, the event will feature exclusive food by the hotel’s restaurant chef with a French twist, and festival-themed drinks to enhance the experience.

This passage describes a pioneering figure who has been instrumental in supporting Osaka’s HipHop scene since the early 1990s, from the dawn of club culture. A true pioneer representing Japan, they started the party “SOUL FREE” in New York City during the early stages of their career, which helped them gain widespread recognition and influence, even attracting media attention. In addition to their activities in Japan, they gained DJ experience in various clubs, both big and small, primarily in New York City, and embarked on a tour of the East Coast of the United States in 2005-2006, solidifying their musical vision and unwavering backbone.
Drawing from their experiences in hotspots like Miami and Las Vegas, they brought the authentic American atmosphere to Japan’s dance floors, taking the lead in steering Osaka’s nightclub scene. With over 30 years of career experience and a discerning eye, they have headlined at some of the most important parties in the scene, and have performed gigs in Asian countries such as Korea, Shanghai, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, and Indonesia. They are an indispensable figure in the club scene and are considered one of the most important individuals in the industry when discussing club culture.

From expanding their field of activity dramatically with successful DJ tours in Europe, America, and Asia to their current status, the journey has been far from smooth for this individual. However, they have always focused on new stimuli and trends in the club scene, maintaining a strong commitment to their identity as a Japanese DJ. They rely solely on their own sense of style, traversing and absorbing various genres.
They have achieved numerous titles, such as becoming the champion of the renowned DJ competition “RED BULL 3STYLE” in Japan. They have also provided the opening theme song for Amazon Prime’s popular show “DOCUMENTAL” and produced music for major artists. Through their clear achievements, not just their attitude, DJ B=BALL continues to prove their existence with the pure power of music, always evolving and showing the future of DJ culture.

Starting their career as a jazz DJ in the mid-90s, this individual has now transitioned to playing primarily techno, tech house, and deep house. They also wear the hat of an organizer, successfully inviting top DJs from both domestic and international scenes and hosting numerous parties.
In 2010, they launched the party “seven,” which garnered attention for its exceptional quality and attendance on weekdays. In August 2011, they produced the compilation album “seven” for the same party.
In April 2013, they co-founded the label “BASS WORKS RECORDINGS” with SUGIURUMN and OSAKAMAN, focusing on serious dance music centered around techno and tech house.
They served as the sole resident DJ at ALZAR OSAKA, which unfortunately closed its doors in 2019. Since 2019, they have been a resident DJ at JOULE’s techno party “SPECTACULAR,” sharing the stage with world-renowned artists such as CHRISTIAN SMITH, NASTIA, and MAYA JANE COLES.

This talented singer-songwriter showcases a multifaceted talent, handling everything from songwriting and track production to recording almost entirely on their own. In their own music, they blend Rootsmusic as the core with sounds that transcend genre boundaries, delivering unique pops with lyrics that are easy to relate to. In November 2020, they released their 1st EP “CHOKING,” with the lead track “帰り道” featuring kojikoji. The music video for this track has surpassed 6.8 million views, and its view count continues to grow steadily.

This singer-songwriter is making waves in the club scene nationwide. Drawing from various musical roots such as reggae, hip-hop, rock, and pops, their enchanting vocals elevate their unique “808” sound. The track “You,” included in the EP “MAGIC HOUR” released on March 20, 2024, has ranked on various subscription service charts, garnering significant attention.

Born on July 16, 1998, in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, this artist expresses themselves uniquely through “ADRENALINE ART,” a method where they apply paint to their body and vigorously strike the canvas with their fists, headbutts, and kicks, infusing their emotions into their work. They engage in a wide range of creative activities, focusing on exhibitions and live painting while also appearing in various media outlets.
