LIVELY World Recap of THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI “Shinsekai” summer festival
Hello from THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI.
We are delighted to share the details of the LIVELY World “Shinsekai” (賑世界 in Japanese) summer festival event held on July 20th.
With the famous district of Shinsekai (新世界 in Japanese), the symbol of typical Osaka, as the theme, both locals and hotel guests enjoyed the special gathering atmosphere unique to THE LIVELY brand.
The event featured a lively and festive “LIVELY yokocho”, inspired by the “Jan-jan yokocho” street of Shinsekai, with games and food on the first floor, and the atmosphere drastically changing in the basement floor, with a mysterious fortune-telling house.

FOOD
The terrace area transformed in the “LIVELY yokocho”, it featured a food cart that offered a French twist on three Japanese traditional dishes, a playful yet authentic taste. (Food photo)
From the start of the event, customers lined up to get the “Senbero set”, which included a dish of their choice and all-you-can-drink beer. The food sold out in less than an hour!
At THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI, every day from 17:30 to 18:30 we offer all-you-can-drink free beer, come to check it out when staying with us!
Games
＜Snack fishing・”Ame-chan” scoop up＞
This time too we had a snack fishing game, and a scoop up game. Rather than goldfish or balls that you usually see in festivals, guests had to scoop up candies (or “Ame-chan” as they are affectionately called in Osaka). Everyone had a hard time getting the candies, which were surprisingly difficult to scoop up!
＜Target shooting＞
One of the most popular games in Shinsekai (新世界), we also had to have target shooting.
In our LIVELY World (賑世界), both adults and children alike gave their all pursuing prizes, which included THE LIVELY goods or THE LIVELY BAR drink tickets, and more.
＜Live Caricature＞
In addition to the games, the first floor hosted a caricature live event by Mr. Kensuke Saeki who won numerous awards at the International Society of Caricature Artists (ISCA).
As a memento of their trip, both Japanese and foreign guests alike had their caricature drawn.
The images were so much alike that everyone unconsciously burst into laughter when receiving the portraits!
～THE UNDERGROUND～
〈Fortune telling house〉
Going into the basement with a mysterious elevator, you would find yourself in the “Fortune telling house”.
Reveil Sayume sensei, Taka sensei, Wasabi sensei, some of the more popular fortune tellers gathered at THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI.
Rumors of the fortunes to be “too on point!” spread, and one after the other customers flooded to THE UNDERGROUND. Many methods were used to tell the fortune, like palmistry, modern numerology, and tarots among others.
What did you think of our Lively World (賑世界) event?
It was a lot of fun to see our guests enjoy themselves with a beer in one hand while having a friendly conversation, or playing the games.
