Land in Fukuoka! Only 10 minutes from the airport to the city center!

You might think airports are usually far from the city center, but Fukuoka is different!
From Fukuoka Airport to The Millennials Fukuoka, it takes just 10 minutes by train!
Once you arrive, head straight to the hotel to drop off your bags.

As you walk into the hotel, you’ll be greeted by lots of digital signage and neon lights.
The open lobby lounge centered around a bar is one of our most popular photo spots.
Be sure to snap a picture before you head out for your adventure!

After a quick rest at the hotel, it’s time to eat! Start with the classic Hakata ramen

When you think of Fukuoka, you think of ramen.
To fuel up for your foodie journey, start with a bowl of Hakata ramen!

Ramen shops are everywhere in Hakata, and many of them are famous.
There are plenty near The Millennials Fukuoka, and just one minute away you’ll find the main branch of Ichiran.
If you’re not sure which one to try, just ask our staff!

Even after a delicious bowl of ramen, your journey has only just begun. Time to head to the next gourmet stop.

Yanagibashi Rengo Market — the kitchen of Hakata

After ramen, head to Yanagibashi Rengo Market.
Often called “the kitchen of Hakata,” this market has over 100 years of history.
It’s a favorite among chefs and locals, offering everything from fresh seafood to fruits and vegetables.

Because the shops sell directly to customers, you can chat with the vendors and learn about local life.
They’ll even share tips on how to cook the ingredients you buy!

There are shops that sell snacks perfect for eating while walking, so enjoy the lively market atmosphere as you go.

Take a break at Ohori Park with a cup of coffee in hand

After all that eating and walking, take a breather with some specialty coffee to go.
Fukuoka is actually a rising city for coffee lovers.

From shops that roast their own beans to newer cafés that focus on creative design and presentation,
you’ll find both classic and trendy coffee spots.

Exploring these unique shops is part of the fun.
Enjoying a great cup of coffee while relaxing at Ohori Park is the perfect way to recharge.

Now the real feast begins — it’s dinner time in the gourmet capital, Fukuoka

Motsunabe: Fukuoka’s famous soul food.

For dinner, try motsunabe — a hot pot dish made with tender beef tripe, cabbage, and garlic chives.
It’s warm, hearty, and perfect for shaking off travel fatigue.

If you want to find a truly amazing, hidden local spot, ask our staff.
We’ll let you in on the secret.

Grilled chicken and drinks at a traditional yatai

For your second stop of the night, visit a traditional yatai — outdoor food stalls where you can enjoy grilled chicken and drinks.
Hakata is one of the few places in Japan where these nostalgic food stalls still exist.

You haven’t truly visited Fukuoka without experiencing a yatai.

Besides grilled chicken, you’ll find other unique dishes like yaki-ramen, tamagoyaki with spicy cod roe, gyoza, and even escargot!
There are lots of stalls to explore, so hop from one to another and discover your favorites.

End your night at THE LIVELY BAR

After your gourmet journey, treat yourself to a cocktail as dessert.
THE LIVELY BAR is located inside THE LIVELY FUKUOKA HAKATA,
where you can meet and mingle with international travelers and local guests from both hotels.

That’s it for our staff’s food-lover’s guide to Fukuoka!
Fukuoka is a city where amazing food, unique culture, and natural beauty come together.
Once you visit, you’ll never forget it.

If you’re planning a trip to Fukuoka, make The Millennials Fukuoka your home base.
