Recap of the summer festival event “OH! MATSURI” on August 31st.
Hello! I’m Saki, a staff member at HOTEL GRAPHY SHIBUYA.
This time, I would like to report on the summer festival event “OH! MATSURI” that we held in August!
A typhoon was approaching until the day before the event, and we were anxious about whether we could hold it or not. But miraculously, the skies cleared just in time for the start of the event! Thanks to that, we were able to proceed as planned, and many of our hotel guests and local neighbors participated.
We opened up the area next to the entrance and set up food stalls. Normally, our first-floor restaurant “Graphic Grill & BAR” serves American diner-style food, but on this day, our chef prepared special festival-themed food just for the event. Guests could enjoy classic festival dishes like takoyaki and yakisoba, which were so delicious that even the staff couldn’t help but exclaim, “OH!”
The most popular item, prepared with the chef’s full effort, was the candied fruit!
The game corner had the children absolutely thrilled!
We set up game booths like yo-yo fishing and target shooting, which were a big hit with the kids! With smiles and laughter all around, the staff joined in on the fun too, creating a truly special moment where the hotel and the local community came together as one.
In the evening, we also held a DJ event!
The lively atmosphere from the daytime carried on into the evening, as the DJ event took the excitement to another level! We also upgraded the difficulty of the same games from earlier in the day, making them more challenging and suitable for adults. The most popular was the “Goldfish Syrup Scooping” game. During the day, it was a fun activity for the kids, but at night, we added a twist—adults had to scoop using a net that already had holes in it, making it much harder! When the participants finally got the hang of it and managed to scoop more than expected, cheers erupted from the crowd.
Overseas guests staying at the hotel also joined the nighttime DJ event, and it was a huge hit! Guests, locals, and staff all enjoyed dancing to the music and challenging themselves with the games, creating a wonderful opportunity for everyone to connect and have fun together.
This “OH! MATSURI” was an incredible event where hotel guests, local community members, and staff could all come together and enjoy themselves. We’re already planning our next event, packed with more surprises and excitement, so please look forward to it!
