What is The MUST BUY MARKET？
The MUST BUY MARKET! at ESTINATE HOTEL NAHA is a curated market where staff shares their favorite items. It’s the perfect spot to discover new shops and hidden gems, making your trip even more special. For the first edition, we’ve invited six local Okinawan creators and a singer to join the fun!
Participating Shops and Artists
■ Gemmy (Knitting)
A peaceful knitter known for distinctive designs and color choices. Enjoy hand-knitted items crafted with care and heart, stitch by stitch.
■ Ambien (Cacti)
Specializing in cacti, Amien offers a variety of plants and plant-themed T-shirts at events and pop-up shops. Look forward to experiencing a fun and relaxing space filled with greenery!
■ mim drawing (Jagua Tattoos)
Located on Okinawa’s Kokusai Street, Body Art Studio mim drawing offers tattoos to commemorate your Okinawa memories, including Jagua Tattoos that fade in about two weeks and tattoo stickers that last a few days. They focus on traditional Okinawan designs for both tattoo services and sales.
■ IROS DYEING (Hand Dyeing)
Using natural dyes, each piece is uniquely hand-dyed. The colors and character of the items evolve with time and care, growing into a one-of-a-kind shade that reflects your personal style.
■ LIFE WALKER (Leather Goods) – Only on 12/22 (Sunday)
While cherishing Okinawa’s roots, they aim to deliver items that will be loved for generations. Embracing the beauty of aging with time is something we hold dear in our daily lives. LIFE WALKER is dedicated to creating products that will be cherished across generations and loved for many years to come.
■ Buntarou (Glassware) – Only on 12/22 (Sunday)
A small glass workshop located in Kitakanegusuku Village. They create products using recycled glass, such as bottles from awamori (Okinawan liquor), giving new life to these materials.
■ CELINA (Singer)
A singer from Naha City, Okinawa. Her music features dark tracks and smooth melodies, often incorporating English lyrics for a distinctive sound.
Event Report
The event attracted not only hotel guests but also local residents. After finding their desired products, many relaxed at the terrace, enjoying custom burritos and hot wine. During the free beer time, many guests enjoyed live music with a beer in hand, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere over the two days!
At the hotel’s attached restaurant, ESTINATE LOUNGE, we offered four exclusive items for the event: custom burritos, roast beef tacos, French toast, and hot wine.
Alongside the ever-popular custom tacos from previous events, the “custom burritos,” where customers can choose their own sauces, ingredients, and toppings, became a big hit this time! Additionally, the warm hot wine and French toast were perfect for the chilly season, making them crowd favorites.
In addition to the marketplace, workshops were held on both days, creating a relaxed atmosphere typical of ESTINATE HOTEL NAHA, where both adults and children could enjoy the event.
MUST BUY MARKET! wasn’t just a great experience for the guests who attended, but also for the vendors and hotel staff, as everyone had the chance to make new discoveries. We plan to continue hosting this event in the future.
