MIX NIGHT: A Look Back at Our Vibrant Lunar New Year Celebration on Feb 1-2

On February 1 and 2, 2025, we held the Lunar New Year event “MIX NIGHT” to celebrate the arrival of spring! Many guests joined us during the two-day event, enjoying a lively night filled with music, dancing to the sounds of the Sanshin live performance, and participating in hanami strolls and a “Senbero” tour. The energy truly lived up to the name “MIX NIGHT.”
Okinawan Traditional Music and Sanshin Live Performance
The Sanshin live performance by Yamato Nakayone from Okinawa featured a selection of songs ranging from traditional Okinawan folk music to familiar tunes like “Orion Beer, Grandpa’s Pride.” At the end, the audience united for a final toast, creating a moment where everyone in the venue felt connected.
The free beer service, which is usually reserved for hotel guests, was made available to non-staying guests for this special event. To conclude the night, guests and staff danced the Kachāshī together, fully immersing themselves in the spirit of Okinawan traditional music.
Event-Exclusive Food & Beer in Ryukyu Glasses with the Hotel Logo
Guests loved the event-exclusive food and Orion Beer served in colorful Ryukyu glasses featuring the hotel’s logo.
The “Jīpái Tacos,” a combination of Taiwanese Jīpái (fried chicken) and Ryukyu Mexican Tacos, paired with Okinawa’s spring seasonal beer, “Ichiban Sakura Orion Beer,” was a huge hit. The spiced, juicy Jīpái and the refreshing, light beer made the perfect combination, enhancing the feeling of spring. On the day of the event, participants were also given Ryukyu glasses with the hotel’s logo, allowing them to choose their favorite glass, take photos, and create lasting memories of the event.
Hanami Stroll & Senbero Tour
After the free beer time, we held a “Hanami Stroll” to admire the night cherry blossoms, followed by an Okinawan “Senbero” tour, where participants could experience the local drinking culture.
We walked about 10 minutes from the hotel to Midorigaoka Park to admire Okinawa’s unique kanhizakura cherry blossoms. These blossoms are known for their deep pink color, which is different from the cherry blossoms found on mainland Japan. We enjoyed a fun quiz about the kanhizakura and took memorable photos together!
After the hanami, we hosted a “Senbero” tour, introducing guests to this local Okinawan drinking tradition.
Senbero is a unique aspect of Okinawan nightlife, where you can enjoy three drinks and one dish for 1,000 yen. The tour attracted a diverse, multinational group of participants from overseas, offering a chance to fully enjoy Okinawa’s local charm. Amidst the lively atmosphere with people speaking various languages, participants bonded naturally and shared a fun, memorable time together.
MIX NIGHT is a special event that brings together music, culture, and food, and it will continue to be held irregularly at ESTINATE HOTEL NAHA.
